i'm back from camp!

we got some really sad news on saturday before we left for camp. sean's mom called to tell us that sean's grandfather had passed away. sean was really close to him. it was very sad. our kids were pretty upset when we told them. Roy Heatherly was 86. He lived a full life. It was a sad time last week, but it was a good time. We were able to get together with family and celebrate his life and talk of so many good memories about Grandpa Roy. we had to leave camp for the day on Tuesday to go to the funeral. It was a wonderful, beautiful service. The family played several videos of Grandpa doing what he loved most...playing gospel music on his guitar! They also played a picture slideshow of his life. it was so beautiful.

camp was good. i worked as a security guard. i only got to sit in on part of two services. it was kind of cool though. sean and our worship team led worship on Wednesday morning. that was an amazing opportunity! it was also fun to see old friends and pastors i haven't seen in a while! our church won 2nd place in mixed volleyball. i got to eat nachos at least once a day! you can't go to church camp and not eat nachos! i had a good time at camp, but i think next year i want to go back to being a cabin leader. that way i have more contact with the kids and will be able to minister to them more. but, i also haven't gotten to work in the snack shack yet. we'll see. i'm trying a different job each year i've decided. why not?

labor day weekend my family and my parents and my cousins meghan and bo are all going to visit my sister in New Mexico. we will be leaving Holly there for 6 weeks. She's going to stay with Nate and Terri again this fall to help at the camp. i'm excited to go visit! i can't wait to see Kaitlyn again! she's getting so big!

we went to my grandma's house today for a birthday party. my cousin jami is visiting from texas. here is a picture of her and her 4 kids. we had a fun day with family!
